Thom Yorke and Radiohead have been an inspiration ever since I first walked into a record store back in 1995 and popped the now iconic album “the Bends” into my Sony diskman as I walked through the streets of Canterbury (UK).
What I did not know at the time though was just how influential his work would continue to be for me as an artist and a human making my way through life. His visions of a future controlled by corporate agendas and loss of freedoms in 2024 seem more true than ever.
What I love about Yorke’s work is the effort he not only places on the music- narrative and artwork of each record- but all the videos that are released with new music too.
I’m in midst of planning a new personal project that was heavily inspired by a recent track and video for “Four Ways in Time” from the new Yorke movie sound track record Confidenza.
I adore the tension of this video and the small subtle details throughout the frame. The word “Paura” means FEAR -an unpleasant feeling triggered by the perception of danger, real or imagined.
Listen to the album here.
